Path Analysis

Used to track time and distance covered for a specific task. All the analytics are given to decide routing methods for specific models.

To create a path, enter panels and go to the ‘Path Analysis’ tab. ‘Record New’ allows the recording a new path while ‘Review Paths’ gives the analysis for any saved paths.

From the ‘Record New’ panel the sample rate can be changed, this polls how much time should pass between points on the path being recorded. The three buttons below describe the three different ways to start recording.

To record a video alongside the path enable the 'Record a Video' toggle. Recordings can be made from both a static view point or the current camera position. To set a static point enable 'Use Alternative View' and press the 'Set to Current View' button. Microphone audio can be toggled using the 'Capture Microphone Audio in Videos' toggle.

Once a recording has started it will measure the head movement of the user’s avatar and what models are moved. Once finished the recording can be ended and it will give the analysis of the path.

A replay of the path can be started via the play button in the panel. Playing the path will show both the model ghost and the avatar moving.

Saving sets the path to be saved upon the layout being saved.

Path colour can be changed using the palette icon.

Videos can be played back in the panel. When saved videos can be downloaded from Data>NonProcFiles.

CMA Mode

‘Component Manipulation Analysis’ utilises ‘Path Analysis’ but a specified position can be given that the model selected must move to. The mode can be activated from within the Path Analysis panel.

Selecting ‘Motion Analysis’ opens a new panel where a component can be selected. Before the component is selected, the component should be placed in the location where the model should end.

Once a component is selected it can be moved to the starting location and ghost will remain at the end location. When in the starting location select ‘Confirm Position’. A path can then be made by moving the component back to the ghost.

Component Animations

Selecting a component creates a new animation. Manage animations allows for reviewing and deletion of previous animations.

After selecting a component it now has to be moved to the animation starting position. The top left corner of the panel contains buttons to access the grab/manipulation methods in order to move the model. When one method is selected move the model as normal to the required starting position.

Once confirmed a set of orthogonal arrows will be present. Select and hold these arrows to set the finishing point of the model. Confirm the position when the model is in the desired finishing location.

The speed of the animation can be set from the next panel (If a conveyor belt or vehicle has a set speed then this can limit the animation to that speed). Animations can also be set to either start once a path recording has started or can be played mid path recording depending on toggle.
