Manipulation

Provides full control over the position, orientation and sectioning of the model while presented to the user in transparent control box with various control tools.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

The root model can be manipulated or a component (Factory Layout/Design Review) can be selected using the pointer and selection button and air tapping again.

 

Selected component is displayed with manipulation box around it

Hover over icons to show manipulation type on screen

oOrthogonal Move: Hover pointer over arrow to highlight, air tap and hold then move hand in that direction

oRotate: Hover over box edge icon to highlight, air tap and hold with the then drag hand in that direction

oFree Rotate: Hover over box corner icon to highlight, air tap and hold then move hand controller in that direction

oSection: Hover over centre square icon on box face to highlight, air tap and hold with then move hand controller in that direction (Only the selected individual scenery file will section, not the entire assembly if present. Multiple sections can be made)

Large Models

 

 

 

Options to move and rotate selected components.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

A window will appear with a list of scenery or components you can manipulate, select a component by pressing it or using the pointer and selection button and air tap to select.

             

Move – with this activated you will be able to translate along a selected axis

oTo select an axis use your finger or use the pointer and selection button to hover over an arrow on the axis system that appears and air tap to select

oThen move your hand in the arrow direction to move the component in that direction

oYou can also move the component by hovering the pointer and selection button directly over the component, air tap and hold to select it then move your hand to move the component

oRelease air tap to stop moving the component

 

3D Rotate – with this activate you will be able to rotate the model around it’s centre point or select an axis to rotate around

oTo select an axis use your finger or use the pointer and selection button to hover over an arrow on the axis system that appears and air tap to select

oThen move your hand in the arrow direction to rotate the component in that direction

oYou can also rotate the component by hovering the pointer and selection button directly over the component, air tap and hold to select it then move your hand to move the component

oRelease air tap to stop moving the component

oIf no arrow is selected from the axis, you will be able to rotate the model around all axis

 

Continuous - Continuous mode will ensure that the model continues to move along the same vector or rotate in the same direction as long as the air tap is help.  Releasing the air tap gesture will stop the movement

 

Discrete - (Default) will follow the movement of the users hand. The model will move when the users hand moves and the air tap is held

 

Slider – the slider bar allows you to adjust the speed of the components movement when you move or rotate it. Moving the slider to right will allow it to move more faster and to the left will make it less sensitive therefore slower when moving

Drop to Floor (Vizualisation)

Drops the model to the detected physical ground level.

Select Manipulation from the menu or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate Manipulation mode.

 

In the expanded menu, select Drop to Floor by pressing it with your finger or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate

 

The model will automatically drop to the physical ground level.

Full Scale (Vizualisation)

Reset the Model to native scale.

Select Manipulation from the menu or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate Manipulation mode.

 

In the expanded menu, select Full Scale by pressing it with your finger or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate

 

The model will automatically change its scale back to it’s original.

Reset Orientation

Reset the model’s orientation back to its native orientation.

Select Reset orientation in the menu, the model selected will automatically reorientate itself in its native orientation but keeping its position.

 

Reset (Vizualisation)

Options to reset the model’s orientation, position, scale, sectioning and reset all.

Select Manipulation from the menu or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate Manipulation mode.

 

In the expanded menu, select Reset by pressing it with your finger or use the pointer and selection button to hover over it and air tap to activate

 

Further Menus will appear which can be selecting your finger or by air tapping:

Reset position – this will move the model back to its original position

Reset orientation –  the model will move back into its native orientation

Reset scale –  the scale of the model will reset to its native size

Reset sectioning –  if the model has been sectioning this option will switch off sections

Reset all –  this will reset all the above together

 

To switch off Reset, deselect it from the menu.

Delete (Factory Layout/Design Review)

Delete a component or scenery file.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

To Delete a Component:

Hover over the component using the pointer and selection button. The component highlights in a red box

Air tap to delete

 

To Delete Scenery

Hover over the component using the pointer and selection button.

Air tap to delete

 

Confirm or cancel deletion when the warning message is presented. This will delete the entire assembly, not individual components within.

Lock/Unlock (Factory Layout/Design Review)

Lock the position of a component.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

Use the pointer and selection button to hover over a component. This will highlight with a grey box.

Air tap to lock. The component will now highlight with an orange box.

 

Air tap on the component again to unlock. The component will now highlight with a grey box as before.

Load Detail

 

Where Models have been created on the server using the “Collapse Level” option in combination with “Retain collapsed geometry as an 'Ungroup' experience” the collapsed product structure can be opened in App by selecting the “Load Detail” option.  This feature offers the benefit of limiting the volume data for standard visualization, but provides the user the option to access the underlying structure on a model by model basis.

 

Grouping (Factory Layout/Design Review)

Group individual components together to manipulate.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

To group, select a component one at a time

oMove pointer to desired component and air tap. Component will be highlighted in a coloured box

oSelect next component to group in the same manner, air tap and it will highlight in the same colour box

oSelect the Grouping icon or select another feature to stop

Future groupings will highlight in a different colour box for user reference.

To Ungroup, select the Grouping icon

oSelect the desired group to change by using the pointer and selection button and select by air tapping on any component (Note that nothing will visually change, this selects the group to edit)

oAir tap on desired components to toggle as grouped or ungrouped. They will highlight in the same colour box when grouped and the box will be removed when ungrouped.

oGrouped components can now be used with other tools such as grab or manipulation

Copy / Paste (Factory Layout/Design Review)

Copies a component or group of components and pastes them into the scene.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

Hover over any component or group of components

Air tap to select

A new, grey box appears. Free move this by moving your hand and controlling the pointer and selection button

When in desired position, air tap to paste

 

Note that any grouped components that are copied and pasted will now form a new group.

Increment

When Grabbing components, move them incrementally rather than freely.

Select by using your the pointer and selection button and either press or use an air tap.

 

This shows a sub menu for increment distances. Select either:

Pre-set settings for

o20mm

o100mm

o500mm

Slider bar for custom distance

oUse the pointer and selection button and Right Trigger to drag the slider to the desired distance

oOr select the custom value box to enter a discreet value between 10-500mm

Once set, ensure Grab mode is selected in the menu.

Hover over the component using the pointer and selection button.

oIf Un-grouped it will highlight green. If grouped it will highlight under the group colour.

Grab the component by hovering the pointer and selection button over it and air tap and hold then move your hand to move the component

 

Component will move at set distances.

Grab Mode Snap

Enables snapping for models to their saved location

Select the icon using the pointer and selection button and the Right Trigger. When enabled models when grabbed and moved away from their initial position now leave behind a ghost. When the model is moved towards the ghost and released the model will snap to the position of the ghost.
